If you find yourself in NYC and travel across the East River to Williamsburg of a Tuesday, make your way to McCarren Park. Stand around for long enough at 6pm, a steady trickle of people will gather by the start/finish of the park's public track, eventually becoming a flood of runners congregating, warming up, chatting and looking ready to roll.

Even on the coldest of NY nights, by 6:30 the formalities are over and after the husky session-briefing from coach Ned Trim (possibly the nicest person in running), pace groups take over the oval. This is Brooklyn Track Club, one of the biggest, most-diverse and most competitive clubs in the USA.

Founded in 2016, BKTC is much younger than its counterparts like the long-established NYAC and Central Park Track Club, but it's meteoric rise has seen over 700 athletes join and the club become one of the most popular in the city. With it's mission for community-driven performance, a Brooklyn Track Club session sees elite runners training for the cut-throat NYC competition circuit alongside new athletes prepping for their first taste of racing the streets of the city, all under the same badge.

This being Brooklyn though, you best believe that they don't just run. With post-race parties, team socials, trail-running trips and electrifying cheer-zones for all of the biggest events on the calendar, they know how to have fun.

As a member of BKTC, our newsletter guy Liam felt it only right that the first international community feature go to his beloved club. Thanks to Mo Fetouh, member and photographer for the team, we have an exclusive behind the scenes look into one of New York's largest running communities.
